What is an MP3 file?

An MP3 file is a compressed audio file; which means that it takes up less space on your hard drive (about 10 times less than "WAV" files from audio CDs, for example). The MP3 format is not illegal in itself, even if its use can sometimes be abused. The MP3 files available on this site respect all copyright laws. Most computers and devices can play MP3 files, and almost all multimedia players can handle these files. The most commonly used media players for Windows are Windows Media Player and Winamp, but you can also use the KaraFun Player to read MP3 files.
